I was on the Internet, and I came across the topic 12 things to do when there is no power:
1. Find flashlight
2. Find back up batteries
3. Find a candle
4. Check to see if anyone else lights are out
5. Call the power company to see how long the lights will be off
6. Open a window or door to let the air circulate in
7. Go to a local store and wait
8. Use your cell phone not the house phone
9. Find non perishable food
10. Have a radio to be notified since you can not watch TV
11. Keep water on stock
12. Gather the whole family in one room to make sure everyone is OK
